The cotton gin was created in 1794. It allowed for cotton seeds to be removed from the cotton at a much faster rate. It is thought of as one of the machines to really make a mark on American history. When the cotton gin was created, trade increased, as well as the slave population. This was because the amount of time that it took the slaves to pick the seeds from the cotton dropped so quickly that the amount of cotton being picked was not enough. This presented many controversial feelings about this machinary.
